May 15th Meeting: Building Flex Components

Bill Nagel from TCi Group will be speaking with us on Building Flex components. Building your own Flex components is not as complicated as you might think, and Bill will help demystify the process! Bill is a business applications developer for IKON and Ray Morgan and has been working with them for eight years. In addition to being Flex 2.0 certified, Bill is proficient with .NET, Java, ActionScript, JavaScript and ColdFusion.

 Refreshments and snacks will be served, so bring your laptop and join us!

April 17th Meeting: Using Events in Flex

One of the most important factors in developing any Flex application is learning to use events and event listeners. For our April meeting Seth Duffey will be speaking to us on this topic. We will be meeting at our usual place and time.

Seth is the manager of the ColdFusion User Group and has been working with Flex since 2.0 and is currently working with WeBot making some very cool Flex applications.

Maintenance at our USUAL meeting location will be occurring all next week and they cannot allow people in the building. Chris Sharp from TCi has managed to procure a meeting spot for us, so thanks to TCi and Chris! The location for the meeting this month will be:

March 20th: Intro to Flex and AIR Presented by TJ Downes

Our March 20th meeting will be a blast. TJ Downes, from Sanative Inc, will be presenting. We will be going through the basics of setting up a Flex project in Flex Builder and building your first Flex Hello World app. We will also build our first AIR app, using Flex. This will be an interactive open session, so bring your laptop (and a spare battery) and your questions. Food and refreshments will be served.
